FAQ

How do I choose my Infinity Drum?

Each tuning of the Infinity Drum has its own unique personaliy, just like us! The key is to pair yourself with the drum that resonates best with you, watch videos of the different scales to get an idea of what kind of sound you like, you can find videos on the listing for each scale in the shop. We also have a YouTube channel under the name "Infinity Drum" where you can hear more of the infinity drum, and learn everything there is to know about our product.

Who can play the Infinity Drum?

Everyone! Musicians, and non musicians of all ages can play the Infinity Drum, it is very responsive and easy to get the hang of, once you start, you won't want to stop!

How do I take care of my Infinity Drum? does it need re-tuning?

Each Infinity Drum is protected from corrosion by a powder coated finish and will never require oils or lubricants. To clean your instrument use windex, or other gentle cleaners with a damp cloth. avoid using strong solvents or abrasive cloths as they may damage the finish exposing the metal underneath, and cause corrosion. The finish of the Infinity Drum is durable, but may still experience scratches. If you happen to damage finish, we recommend touching up the effected area with clear nail polish to protect the metal from corrosion. As an extra precaution we do not recommend storing instruments in carrying bags for extended periods of time as they can trap moisture on the drum. We would also like to mention that over time the brass ring may slightly darken, do not be alarmed, this is the aging process of the brass and has a very nice look.

Unlike handpans, tongue drums do not require re tuning. The Infinity Drum has been exposed to extreme heat and cold for long periods of time with no effect on the tuning. We are confident the infinity drum is much more weather resistant than the people playing it! Because of thick steel, the infinity drum is very durable, but not indestructible. Dropping the drum or hitting the leafs with an unreasonable amount of force may cause the instrument to go out of tune. Our best advice is to be mindful when using heavier mallets, otherwise you'll be ok!
