How do I take care of my Infinity Drum? does it need re-tuning?

The second generation of Infinity Drum is made of stainless steel and is highly rust resistant, it is still recommended to apply oil to the surface of the drum once in a while, oils like Froglube, Phoenix Handpan oil or even coconut oil will do the trick. To clean your instrument you can wipe if down with a soft cloth then apply oil, for a deep clean you can use rubbing alcohol then re apply oil. avoid using strong solvents or abrasive cloths (like a scouring pad) as they may damage the colour of the drum. As an extra precaution it is not recommended to store instruments in carrying bags for extended periods of time as they can trap moisture on the drum. It is also good to know that over time the brass ring may slightly darken, do not be alarmed, this is the aging process of the brass and has a nice look.

Unlike handpans, tongue drums do not require re tuning. The Infinity Drum has been exposed to extreme heat and cold for long periods of time with no effect on the tuning. It can be said with confidence that the Infinity Drum is much more weather resistant than the people playing it! Because of thick steel, the infinity drum is very durable, but not indestructible. Dropping the drum or hitting the leafs with an unreasonable amount of force may cause the instrument to go out of tune. It is best to be mindful when using heavier mallets, otherwise you'll be ok!
